State of the sovereign transition 2026: from national targets to sector signals

Hosted by the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre. In the week before COP31, the annual platform for negotiating and advancing global action on climate change, this event will reflect on the state of national transition planning in 2026. Meeting national climate targets increasingly depends on mobilising private capital and translating these ambitions into commitments and policies that the private sector, including investors, can act on. Building on their economy wide targets and climate laws, many countries have initiated sectoral transition planning to guide corporate decarbonisation and attract transition finance.
